808Ink drop visuals for stand out release ‘Blessed Up’, taken from new album ‘When I’m About, You’ll Know Pt 2’

808Ink are quite difficult to define, and why should it be easy? Sometimes the best artists are the ones who are difficult to categorize, and 808Ink have shown an incredibly raw, distinctive sound with sample selection and flow. Making up the duo is 808Charmer, who was a live drummer for M.I.A and Tinie Tempeh but later linked up with Mumblez after hearing him rap in a video shoot, and from there, the duo have gone to produce four credible projects. Whilst rap seems to connect them to hip-hop, they’ve also shown tenacity to jump on house beats to make their voices heard like they showed with Suede Jaw.

Their latest album titled; ‘When I’m About, You’ll Know About It Pt2’, builds on their earlier album release this year. Challenging the regular paradigms of what we associate with Hip Hop and putting their mark amongst other UK artists. 808Ink aren’t afraid to experiment with vocals and often incorporate that in their music, showing some depth and attention to detail for each track.
