Set in one of Paris’ most multicultural districts, French- Congolese Afropunk group – TSHEGUE share the video to their latest release titled – M’Benga Bila’ (a Lingala term for ‘Call The Police’).  The video is part of a contemporary tribute to the classic scene from French director Leos Carax’s cult 1986 film, ‘Mauvais Sang’, which tracks its protagonist sprinting through the streets of Paris.

Explaining the meaning behind the record and visuals, TSHEGUE say; “It’s a protest, a scream from a society that still struggles to accommodate the differences and the freedoms of all. The threat ‘I’m gonna call the cops!’ for us represents a systematic formula which too often forces the point of rupture between two individuals, the end of a dialogue”

TSHEGUE are also happy to announce the release of their second EP titled – ‘Telema’, set for release on the 18th of June.

Track-listing:

  1. The Wheel
  2. M’Benga Bila
  3. Solola
  4. Telema
  5. The Wheel (DJ Marfox Remix)
