Alternative afrobeats influenced trio, Lucked In have released the first single from their forthcoming EP with XVI Records. Titled ‘Nuttin’ cold’, the tracks combine the rawness of afrobeats with the experimental nature of electronic music.

Poet and rapper, Kwame Write (Ghana) urgent, muliti-lingual verses merge with ethereal vocal melodies of singer, composer and instrumentalist Black Rainbow (New Zealand/Ghana, a.k.a Leila Adu), working in sync with saxophonist and producer, Alejandro Van Zandt- Escobar (Colombia/USA)

Discussing the themes of their forthcoming EP, the band explains “Many of the songs speak of the sociopolitical impact of a world that is increasingly interconnected, increasing movement of people and in reaction increasing hostility towards others”
